Frequently Asked Questions
How long does cabinet painting take?
Every project's schedule depends on scope, structural complexity, materials lead time, and permit timing — so we don't quote timelines without seeing your space. Every Forge quote includes a written, project-specific timeline. Request a free in-home estimate for your project's schedule.
How much does cabinet painting cost?
Pricing varies significantly based on scope, materials, layout changes, and existing conditions — every project is different. We provide free, written, fixed-price estimates after an in-home consultation, so the price in your quote is the price you pay. Request a custom quote for accurate pricing on your project.
Will the paint chip or peel?
Not when applied correctly. Our multi-coat lacquer / alkyd-hybrid system is far more durable than brush-and-roll latex. Proper prep — degreasing, grain-filling, and bonding primer — is the difference between cabinets that last and cabinets that fail.
Can I keep using my kitchen during the job?
Mostly, yes. We typically remove only the doors and drawer fronts (sprayed off-site for the cleanest finish) and leave the cabinet boxes in place — so the kitchen remains usable, just without doors, for about a week.
Will you change the hardware?
Yes — we can swap to new hardware (you supply or we source) or reuse existing knobs and pulls. Soft-close hinge upgrades are a popular add-on we handle during install.
